Services

Cape Cod Meditation Circle Services start with a prayer followed by a reading from the inspirational writings and lectures of Paramahansa Yogananda. This is followed by devotional chanting leading into silent meditation periods of 10 to 45 minutes. Our Services are concluded with a healing Prayer Service as part of the Self-Realization Fellowship World Wide Prayer Circle. Starting in May we will be hold our Sunday Services at the Dennis Memorial Library and will have in person services for our Wednesday night service at the Jacob Sears Library. (see below)

Birthday of Swami Sri Yukteswar (1855)

Sri Yukteswar’s birthday and celebration Service will be in person at the Jacob Sears Library in East Dennis on Friday, May 10th, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.

This service is primarily intended for those who are SRF students or other devotees who regularly attend the SRF meetings.  However, all are welcome who are well enough acquainted with SRF teachings to appreciate the significance of the Guru‑disciple relationship and to participate in the service with sincerity and reverence.

Instructions for the Congregation

1. Bring a flower or flowers (one’s favorite, if possible) to be offered as a symbol of devotion to God and the SRF Gurus. The devotee should not smell the flower(s) and thus “take” for himself or herself a part of the gift meant for God.
2. Each devotee should bring a donation in a sealed envelope, as a symbol of loyalty and faithfulness to the cause of SRF. The collection will be sent to the SRF Mother Center (after allowing for necessary expenses of the ceremony); these donations will he used by the Mother Center for sharing these sacred teachings with other truth‑seeking souls.

Cape Cod Meditation Circle Scriptural Study: The Second Coming of Christ

“The Second Coming of Christ – The Resurrection of the Christ Within You” Study Group will meet in person each Wednesday night prior to the service, 5:00 – 5:45 pm. Participants read passages followed by a discussion of what was read.

Two Hour Meditations: (currently suspended)

On the first Sunday of each month there will be a two hour meditation. On this day, the Inspirational Service will be from 9am to 9:45am  and the meditation service will begin at 10:00am with chanting at 10 minutes to the hour and the meditation concluding at 12pm. If you are unable to stay for the two hours, we ask that you leave during the chanting periods

Kirtan Services: (currently suspended)

A Kirtan and Meditation Service is held the first Wednesday of every month starting at 7:00pm and ending a 8:30pm.

Chanting, or kirtan, helps to arouse devotion and interiorize one’s consciousness. Through concentration and repetition one’s attention becomes wholly absorbed within upon the devotional thought that is being expressed.

When attending Sunday Services at the Jacob Sears Memorial Library, please use the parking spaces in front of the library and/or on the left side of Center St near Sea St.

When attending our Services at the Dennis Memorial Library please enter through the side door (see the above photo on the right).
